Our Principles

The idea behind our association is to provide both symbolic and tangible support to commandos (commando groups and special forces), and more generally, to all those who face immediate danger for the benefit of the Nation and its citizens. In a context where terrorism can, and already has, struck French territory, it seems obvious to remind these elite soldiers stationed abroad (often at the source of terrorism) that civilians support them. As far as possible, all theaters and all mandates must be covered.
To be more precise, here are the designated recipients of parcels in OPEX:

  • First circle: 1st RPIMa, 13th RDP, CPA10, Marine Commandos, GCP (all regiments), GCM (all regiments), GIGN and RAID (if present in operational deployment countries). It should be noted that "logistics" personnel are full recipients of the parcels. Finally, dogs (if applicable) are also entitled to signs of recognition.
  • Second circle (for historical reasons and if and only if finances permit): SAED (sections d’aide à l’engagement débarqué) and BRI PP (OPINT)


To the rare people who reproach us for not looking after enlisted soldiers, we reply that they can approach other recognized associations, while reminding them that there is "commando" in "commando support" and that the association's founding statutes are already clear on this subject.


- The Soutien Commando association claims to be a representative of civilians supporting their commandos. The overwhelming majority of our social media subscribers, donors, and members are civilians. If it's about establishing (or re-establishing) a link between the army and the nation – on our scale – there's no question of claiming to be "military," "commandos," "veterans," or even "reservists," as this is not the case and this is precisely the originality of the initiative, its DNA. Soutien Commando is not a "mutual aid" or a "social club." Finally, even if qualified as "charitable," this association does not provide charity.


- Soutien Commando is not affiliated with or even recognized by military institutions to date. Both for its survival and, above all, for the safety of the operators, we are sensitive to SECOPS, i.e., all the rules allowing the security of soldiers to be safeguarded, whether abroad or on national territory: no faces, no tattoos, no names, no on-site locations, and no personal addresses are and must be communicated to the association or its members. Only pseudonyms and postal sector (SP) numbers are tolerated so that parcels reach their destination.
Indeed, the association is not authorized to hold any confidential data that could identify the identity or location of the mission of the person concerned. Furthermore, no familiarity is allowed with the operators, and exchanges are limited to their simplest expressions. Soutien Commando refuses to possess information it should not know about (especially since it would be of no use to the proper functioning of the association and the actions it carries out).
