In this exceptional account, the author immerses us in the heart of the Commando Parachute Group (GCP). From its creation to the present day, he recounts the missions and operations that have shaped these men sent to the four corners of the globe.

From the Middle East to the Balkans, from Africa to Afghanistan, each deployment has taken them to isolated and demanding areas where the slightest mistake can be costly.
The most prestigious non-special unit in the French army, the GCP relentlessly crisscrossed the desert vastness of Mali and Niger for nearly ten years. A true Swiss Army knife at the disposal of tactical leaders of conventional units, it offered them the possibility of conducting high-value-added actions that materialized or supplemented those of heavier units. The commando paratroopers thus directly contributed to the weakening of jihadist armed groups by tracking them in their sanctuary zones. Whether by high-altitude jump and stealth infiltration, helicopter, vehicle, or on foot, they were in every battle, relentlessly tracking the enemy, sometimes at the cost of their lives. This book takes you into their daily lives and brings you unfiltered with them into the heart of the gunfire.
Welcome to the epic of the GCP in the Sahel and beyond.
