The Commando Parachutist Groups (GCP) are the deep reconnaissance and action teams of the 11th Parachute Brigade. Heirs of the CRAP created in 1965, they are present in each of the brigade's regiments and provide specialized support in airborne infiltration, intelligence gathering, and direct action.

The 35th Parachute Artillery Regiment (35th RAP), based in Tarbes, is the only parachute artillery regiment in the French army. The regiment's GCP is named after Squadron Leader Patrice Sonzogni, who fell in combat in Afghanistan on February 11, 2009.
