The Commando de Recherche et d'Action en Jungle (CRAJ - Jungle Reconnaissance and Action Commando) is the elite unit of the 9th Marine Infantry Regiment (9th RIMa) of the French Armed Forces in Guyana (FAG), based in Cayenne. Created in July 1998, this specialized unit has the dual mission of training units destined to operate in equatorial environments and conducting jungle combat missions. This "River Action" patch pays tribute to the infiltration and combat aspect of operations on Guyanese rivers.
