As leader of the celestial armies, he embodies the fighter who vanquishes evil and defends his own – the image of the standing, determined warrior who never retreats. For those who jump, who engage on the front lines, who deploy on external operations, he represents protection, courage, and fidelity to the mission. His feast day, September 29, is celebrated annually in parachute regiments and special units.
