The Parachute Commando Groups (GCP) are the deep reconnaissance and action teams of the 11th Parachute Brigade. Successors to the CRAPs created in 1965, they are present in each of the brigade's regiments and provide specialized support in airborne infiltration, intelligence gathering, and direct action.

The 8th Parachute Marine Infantry Regiment (8th RPIMa), based in Castres, is one of the four infantry regiments of the 11th Parachute Brigade. The regiment's GCP is named after Lieutenant Maurice de Peretti, who died for France on June 30, 1957, from wounds received at Djebel Kifen in Algeria.
