Official PVC patch of the RAID's CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) unit. A specialized unit created in recent years to deal with CBRN threats within the scope of the unit's missions.

RAID (Research, Assistance, Intervention, Deterrence) is the elite unit of the French National Police, created on October 23, 1985, by Interior Minister Pierre Joxe on the recommendation of Commissioner Robert Broussard. Specialized in fighting terrorism, serious crime, and hostage-taking, it notably led the assault on the Hyper Cacher in 2015 and the Saint-Denis operation on November 18, 2015. Its headquarters are in Bièvres (Essonne) and its motto is "Serve without fail."
