The Commando de Recherche et d'Action en Jungle (CRAJ) is the elite unit of the 9th Marine Infantry Regiment (9th RIMa) of the French Armed Forces in Guiana (FAG), based in Cayenne. Established in July 1998, this specialized unit has a dual mission: to train units operating in an equatorial environment and to conduct combat missions in the jungle. Its members are highly skilled in coastal operations, river navigation, airborne actions, and commando techniques in the world's most hostile environment.
