It is part of a transmission initiative, paying tribute to all hussars who have fallen since 1720 and honoring the tutelary figures of Saint Michael and Saint George.
The creation of a monumental statue by sculptor Christophe Charbonnel embodies the power, memory, and spirit of commitment that unite the Bercheny family.

Saint Michael the Archangel has been the patron saint of French paratroopers since 1949, and more broadly, the guiding figure for airborne and commando units. As the leader of the heavenly armies, he embodies the warrior who defeats evil and defends his own—the image of a standing, determined warrior who does not back down. For those who jump, who engage on the front lines, who deploy for external operations, he represents protection, courage, and fidelity to the mission.
