"The Rice Paddies of Our Fathers" evokes the landscapes of Indochina — rice paddies, the Tonkin and Cochinchina deltas, jungles, and high plateaus — where thousands of French soldiers from the French Far East Expeditionary Corps fought and fell between 1945 and 1954. A land whose memory continues to live on in the veterans and their families.

ANAPI (National Association of Former Prisoners, Internees, and Deportees of Indochina), recognized as being of public interest, brings together former prisoners, internees, and deportees of Indochina between 1945 and 1954. It works to preserve the memory of the combatants of the French Far East Expeditionary Corps (CEFEO). Of the 40,000 prisoners in Viêt-Minh camps, only 9,000 returned.
