IN AID OF ANAPI.

The "Bigeard Boys" refers to the paratroopers of the 6th Colonial Parachute Battalion (6th BPC) commanded by Major Marcel Bigeard. Re-formed on July 5, 1952, in Saint-Brieuc, the 6th BPC distinguished itself during the Battle of Tu Lê in October 1952, Operation Castor (parachute drop on Điện Biên Phủ on November 20, 1953), and the second drop into the basin on March 16, 1954. Nicknamed the "Zatopek Battalion" for its forced marches, the 6th BPC was disbanded on May 8, 1954, after the fall of Điện Biên Phủ. Its motto: "Believe and Dare."

ANAPI (National Association of Former Prisoners, Internees, and Deportees from Indochina), recognized as being of general interest, brings together former prisoners, internees, and deportees from Indochina between 1945 and 1954. It works to preserve the memory of the combatants of the French Far East Expeditionary Corps (CEFEO). Out of 40,000 prisoners in Việt Minh camps, only 9,000 returned.
