The Commando Parachute Groups (GCP) are the reconnaissance and deep action teams of the 11th Parachute Brigade. Successors of the CRAP created in 1965, they are present in each of the brigade's regiments and provide specialized support in airborne infiltration, intelligence gathering, and direct action.

The 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment (17th RGP), based in Montauban, is the only engineer regiment of the 11th Parachute Brigade. It carries out engineer support missions: crossing, mine clearance, decontamination, and restoration of landing strips.
