The Commando de Recherche et d'Action en Jungle (CRAJ - Jungle Search and Action Commando) is the elite unit of the 9th Marine Infantry Regiment (9th RIMa) of the French Armed Forces in Guyana (FAG), based in Cayenne. Created in July 1998, this specialized unit has a dual mission: to train units called to operate in an equatorial environment and to conduct combat missions in the jungle. Its members are seasoned in coastal operations, river navigation, airborne actions, and commando techniques in the world's most hostile environment.
