As the leader of the heavenly armies, he embodies the warrior who vanquishes evil and defends his own — the image of a standing, determined warrior who does not back down. For those who jump, who engage on the front lines, who deploy on external operations, he represents protection, courage, and faithfulness to the mission. His feast day, September 29th, is celebrated annually in paratrooper regiments and special units.
